Multi-disciplinary approach on Disaster Risk Reduction

Date: 06 May 2021 to: 06 May 2021

You are invited to attend our PERIPERI U Talks Session: "UNESCO's "Multi-disciplinary approach on Disaster Risk Reduction", by Soichiro Yasukawa, UNESCO, 06 May 2021 at 12h00 GMT.

Countries address challenges in a diversified manner with respect to understanding risk, developing preventive hard measures, risk communication, and policymaking and its implementation. The solutions to successfully addressing these challenges cover science, education, communication, and social science, calling for enhanced multi-disciplinary approaches. Through an improved multidisciplinary and intersectoral approach, UNESCO, therefore, helps build capacities and foster partnerships so that science and technology can serve to mitigate the effects of the threats and reduce vulnerability related to the climate crises, disasters, and hazards. This PERIPERI U Talks Session hosted by Soichiro Yasukawa, Coordinator for Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience at UNESCO will discuss the institution's various multi-disciplinary approaches to enhance disaster risk reduction initiatives in Africa and across the globe.
