JOINT VIRTUAL CONFERENCE 2020

INNOVATION AND RESILIENCE IN HIGHER EDUCATION INTERNATIONALISATION IN AN ERA OF COVID-19 & BEYOND

COVID-19 has presented higher education institutions around the globe with unprecedented challenges. In light of global restrictions on mobility, higher education internationalisation has been severely disrupted, bringing many traditional internationalisation activities to an abrupt halt. At the same time, we have witnessed universities act with great adaptability, innovation and resilience.

Join us for a two-day virtual conference exploring the innovative and resilient ways in which universities have responded to COVID-19. In these uncertain times, we are looking forward to sharing perspectives on what we have experienced so far and what we might anticipate beyond the pandemic.

The event is co-hosted by the International Education Association of South Africa (IEASA) and the African Network for Internationalisation of Education in Africa (ANIE)

In August 2020, IEASA and ANIE signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to express their commitment to jointly advance higher education internationalisation in Africa and amplify African voices in the global international educational space.

We are looking forward to bringing together representatives of universities and organisations from across the continent to explore different aspects of innovation and resilience in higher education and higher education internationalisation at the level of individuals, programmes and initiatives, organisations and countries. Speakers will touch on a variety of areas including research, teaching and learning, postgraduate training, entrepreneurship initiatives as well as university management, administration and partnerships.
