Meet our CARP reps for COP28 in Dubai

After an onerous selection process which involved sifting through nearly 200 applications from African researchers vying for the opportunity to attend COP28 in Dubai this year - the PERIPERI U Secretariat is excited to announce that Dr Mabel Wantim from the University of Buea, Cameroon and Mr Juma Said Tusubila from Makerere University will be ambassadors of the wider PERIPERI U network, their institutions, and Climate Adaptation Research Programme (CARP). At the COP28 the two representatives will highlight the importance of engaging early career and young researchers from the Global South in localized and global climate agendas.

Professor Sam Ayonghe who is the PERIPERI U Director at the University of Buea commenting on the selection of Dr Wantim said, ‘We are thankful to CARP coordinators, University of Arizona, and Stellenbosch University for this noble priviledge and honour.
